Women's soccer forces second draw against Poets

ORANGE, Calif — Women's soccer played to the tune of a 0-0 tie against the Whittier Poets on Saturday, Oct. 15 at Wilson Field.

While Whittier applied the majority of the offensive pressure in the first half, Chapman consistently kept the ball on the Poet half of the pitch, and with 20 seconds left in the contest, the Panthers had their best opportunity of the game.

A Stella Bauman tip poked through a gap in the defense, and Jenna Urrabazo was able to break through with an open shot at the net. The ball, however, jumped off of her foot and went high over the goal.

Maia Mills had a great game at goalie collecting five saves, most notably a rocket off of a corner kick directly off of Mills' arms.

With the tie, the Panthers remain at 3-7-4, 1-4-4 in SCIAC play. The Poets record sits at 7-2-4, 3-2-4.

Chapman returns to play next Saturday, Oct. 22. The Panthers will travel to Caltech to face off against the Beavers.
