Women's tennis falls to fourth-ranked Bowdoin

ANAHEIM, Calif. – The Chapman University women's tennis team fell 9-0 to fourth-ranked Bowdoin. The Panthers have played five of their first six matches against nationally-ranked teams, including three top-10 teams.

The Panthers faced their third top-10 team of the young season but fell victim to a sweep. Bowdoin did not surrender a game in the two doubles matches and won the third by default.

In singles, senior Madeline Saunders pushed her opponent in the top singles match in the first set before ultimately falling 6-4, 6-0. The Polar Bears took the first five matches in straight sets and won the No. 6 match by default.

The Panthers play their third match in three days tomorrow when they take on Trinity (Conn.) at the Racquet Club of Irvine at 1 p.m.
