Women's tennis falls to Colby

ORANGE, Calif. – The Chapman University women's tennis team suffered an 8-1 loss to visiting Colby College on Sunday. The Panthers' captured their point at No. 2 doubles.

Sophomore Nicole Fouts and freshman Raven Hampton picked up their third doubles win of the season with a 9-8 win in the No. 2 match. All three of their wins come from the No. 2 slot in the lineup and the duo is 3-5 on the year.

The Mules won the top doubles match 8-4 and the third doubles match by default.

Colby swept the singles portion of the match, including another win by default at No. 6. Senior Madeline Saunders won her first set in the No. 1 singles match 6-2 but then fell by the same score in the second set and dropped the super tiebreak 10-7 in the narrow loss.

Chapman hosts Principia today at 11:30 a.m.
