Women's tennis falls to top-seeded Athenas

CLAREMONT, Calif. – The Chapman University women's tennis team fell 5-0 at top-seeded Claremont-Mudd-Scripps in the first round of the SCIAC Tournament. The Panthers fall into the back draw rounds and will play twice tomorrow to conclude the tournament.

The Panthers forfeited the No. 3 doubles and No. 6 singles match to give CMS a 2-0 lead to begin the match. CMS took both doubles matches 8-0 before the No. 2 singles match was won by the Athenas 6-0, 6-0 to clinch the match.

Chapman will face Cal Lutheran tomorrow at 11 a.m. and will wrap up their season later in the day.
