Women's tennis wins fourth in a row

ORANGE, Calif. – The Chapman University women's tennis team ran its winning streak to four with an 8-1 victory over visiting Grinnell on Wednesday. All four wins came in the last five days.

The Panthers got hot at the right time as they have not lost since entering a stretch of six matches in eight days. They are two-thirds of the way through their busiest week of the year and have run their overall record to 7-3.

An 8-0 win from Olivia Desso and Brooke Waite set the tone for the match from the No. 3 doubles court. Aliya Allyn and Alexis Golin  gave Chapman the early advantage with an 8-3 win at No. 2.

With a 2-1 advantage, Chapman quickly clinched the match and went on to sweep the singles from the Pioneers. Allyn won 6-0, 6-4 at the top of the lineup and the Panthers went on to claim five of the six singles matches in straight sets for their fourth consecutive win.

The busy stretch continues tomorrow as Chapman is slated to take UC Santa Cruz at 1 p.m.
