
Women's tennis captures fifth straight victory
ORANGE, Calif. — Women's tennis notches its fifth win in a row, this time taking down UC Santa Cruz 7-2 on Thursday, March 30 at the Anderson Tennis Center.
The Panthers captured two doubles points behind an 8-4 win from Aliya Allyn and Alexis Golin, followed by a 8-5 win secured by Olivia Desso and Brooke Waite.
Chapman followed, taking five out of the six singles matches. Desso, Allyn and Golin all secured solo victories. Racquel Fhima and Ava Tyler grabbed the other two points, in very different fashion. Fhima dominated, winning in straight sets 6-1, 6-3. And Ava Tyler came from behind to win the second and third sets 6-2, 6-3 after falling 6-3 in the opener.
The Panthers now sit at 8-3 on the season and will play in a conference matchup against Occidental in Eagle Rock on Saturday, April 1 at 10 a.m.
