Ruud, Kenison help women's volleyball cruise past Redlands

ORANGE, Calif — Women's volleyball cruised to a 3-0 victory over the Redlands Bulldogs on Thursday, Oct. 13 at the Hutton Center, with set scores of 25-16, 25-14 and 25-15.

Annika Ruud and Julin Kenison led the way for the Panthers combining for 19 kills all while hitting a combined .667. Ruud added three blocks to her ledger.

Chapman got after it right away, winning five straight points with the first set score at 19-13, to take a commanding 24-13 lead to put away the Bulldogs early. 

Marly Johnson had one of her best games as a Panther, collecting six kills and only one error, hitting .417. The Panthers finished the game with a season-high .398 hitting percentage.

Around the floor, freshman Brooke Leslie put down some monster kills in the second and third sets, ending with six of her own.

With the victory, the Panthers improved to 6-11, 4-6 SCIAC on the season. The Bulldogs fell to 1-13, 1-9.

Chapman will return to the court on Saturday, Oct. 15 when they travel to Thousand Oaks to take on the Cal Lutheran Regals for the second time this season.
