Worthington earns All-WWPA honorable mention

ORANGE, Calif. – The Western Water Polo Association announced its All-WWPA team on Tuesday, with Chapman University sophomore Arielle Worthington earning honorable mention after averaging 1.6 goals and 4.7 shots per game this season. The WWPA’s end of the season awards are voted on annually by the coaches.

The sophomore 2-meter was the primary offensive weapon for Chapman this season as she led the team with 48 goals in 2010. Worthington averaged 1.6 goals per game which ranked her in the top-50 nationally. She scored a season-high six goals against Wheaton College to help the Panthers to 15-10 victory in March.

She also finished with a team-high 136 earned ejections while playing in all 31 games this season for the Panthers.

The honor is the first for Worthington in her career and she is the second Chapman player in as many years to earn All-Conference honors following Sabrina Cook’s nod in 2009.
