ORANGE, Calif. – The Chapman University women's water polo team won for the fourth time in its past five games, defeating visiting University of La Verne 14-10 in a SCIAC game at the Allred Pool on Saturday. The Panthers snapped an 8-8 tie in the third quarter with six consecutive goals to secure their third win in their last four conference games.

Senior attacker Emily Holmquist and junior utility Alison Quincy led No. 4-ranked Chapman (11-12 overall, 3-2 SCIAC) on a second-half rally that included six straight goals to break an 8-all tie. Holmquist's third goal of the game with 1:44 remaining in the third period gave the Panthers the lead for good. Then early in the fourth quarter, Quincy and Holmquist scored back-to-back goals in 47 seconds to give Chapman a 12-8 lead. For good measure, Quincy added her second goal 1:14 later which put the Panthers up by six – their largest lead of the game at 14-8.
