Reid, Ralston pace Chapman cross country at Pomona Invite

CLAREMONT, Calif. – For the third time this season, freshman Chris Reid and sophomore Emily Ralston paced the Chapman University men's and women's cross country team in their respective races, this time at the Pomona-Pitzer Invite on Saturday.

Reid had the top time for the men in the 8K finishing with a time of 27:32, good enough for 74th place, but just over three minutes off the pace set by Cal State San Marcos' Danny Lyon who won with a time of 24:31.7. San Marcos won the overall team event as well while Chapman finished in 10th place.

Behind Reid, freshman Shaun Yee had a time of 29:25 while freshmen Josh Nudelman (30:45.5) and Connor Hague (31:18.7), and senior David Andre (32:43.6) rounded out the times for Chapman on the men's side.

For the women, Ralston finished in 79th place with a time of 25:28.8, just under 4 minutes behind Cal State San Marcos' first-place finisher Kelly Thompson who ran the 6K course in 21:39.5. San Marcos' women also won the overall event while Chapman placed 10th.

Sophomore Lisa Peterkin was Chapman's No. 2 runner in 95th place with a time of 26:21.1. Freshman Avalon Derlacki (27:01.2), sophomore Charlie Truax (27:33.2) and freshman Marisol Diaz (27:42.1) rounded out the women's runners for Chapman.
