Chapman finishes conference schedule

ORANGE, Calif. –The Chapman University men's and women's cross country teams concluded its conference schedule at the Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SCIAC) Championships hosted at Prado Park. The women's team finished sixth overall while the men's team finished ninth.

Six Panthers toed the line for the men's team earning a 2:31.05.19 total time for an average of 30:13.24. The men's team was once again paced by senior Chris Reid who placed 12th out of 124 with a mark of 26:34.12 to earn All-SCIAC Second Team.

Freshman duo Christian Colwell and Henry Butler both finished under the 30 minute mark with times of 29:26 and 29:58.

The women finished sixth as a team and ran well. Freshman Nika Cokas paced the Panthers to finish 36th out of 108 with a mark of 25:21.37.

The second Chapman runner to cross the finish line was junior Michiko Yee at a mark of 25:29. Junior Cathryne Ramirez finished with a mark of 26:02 just six spots back from Yee.

Chapman will use the next two weeks to train afor the NCAA Division III West Regionals hosted by Pomona-Pitzer on Saturday, Nov. 14 at 10 a.m.
