    The team was always on his mind but this award goes to offensive lineman Ryan Moles. The four-year starter and highly decorated right tackle is Chapman University’s Male Scholar-Athlete of the Year.
  • Chapman suspends face-to-face classes and athletic events

    Chapman University is canceling all athletic events, including practices and games for all varsity, club and intramural sports until further notice. 
  • D3football.com recognizes Keefe as First Team All-American

    Junior Dillon Keefe was again recognized as an All-American, this time by D3football.com. The website dedicated to Division III football chose Keefe as a First Team All-American linebacker.
  • Spriggs earns Honorable Mention for Comeback Player of the Year Award

    The winners of the Mayo Clinic Comeback Player of the Year Award have been announced by the College Sports Information Directors of America in association with the Associated Press and the Fiesta Bowl Organization with Chapman University senior Hunter Spriggs earning one of the six Honorable Mentions.
  • AFCA honors Owens as Regional Coach of the Year

    A year of firsts continued into the award season as head coach Bob Owens was honored as the American Football Coaches Association’s Region 5 Coach of the Year – the first such honor of Owens’ career.

    A program record seven Panthers earned spots on the D3football.com All-West Region teams. Head coach Bob Owens headlined the selections as the Coach of the Year with junior Dillon Keefe being selected to the First Team.
  • Keefe earns first All-American honor

    A historic season has led to the first career All-American honor for junior linebacker Dillon Keefe. Keefe was selected the American Football Coaches Association’s All-America Second Team following his monster season.
  • Historic season finishes with Second Round loss to Saint John's

    The historic run for the 2019 Chapman University football team came to a close with a 55-26 loss to No. 8 Saint John’s in the Second Round of the NCAA Division III Football Championship. The Panthers finished the season with a 10-1 record overall – setting the new program record for wins in a season.

    No. 12 Chapman hosts No. 8 Saint John’s in the Second Round of the NCAA Division III Football Championship. Kickoff is scheduled for noon Pacific time in the first matchup between the two programs.

    Tickets are now on sale for the first postseason home game in Chapman football history. The Panthers are hosting Linfield on Sat., Nov. 23 at noon in Chapman Stadium.
  • Football advances after triple OT thriller

    The Chapman University football team had never had an undefeated regular season but went 9-0 in 2019. They went on the road for their first two postseason appearances but were chosen to a host a First Round game in 2019. They had never won a playoff game but took down No. 20 Linfield in 68-65 in triple overtime to advance to the Second Round of the NCAA Division III Football Championship.

    Chapman football is in the postseason for the third time in six years. The champions of the SCIAC will host Linfield College – the champions of the NWC – at noon on Saturday.
  • Football continues to make history with 16 All-SCIAC selections

    The Chapman University football team continued to make history earlier this morning with 16 All-SCIAC selections, the most in program history. The Panthers took home four of the five major awards, including Defensive Athlete of the Year, Newcomer of the Year, the John Zinda Award and SCIAC Coaching Staff of the Year.
  • NCAA playoff football coming to Orange County

    Playoff football is coming to Orange County. With a program-best 9-0 record, the Chapman University football team will be hosting Northwest Conference champion Linfield in the First Round of the NCAA Division III Football Championship.

    The No. 13 Chapman University football team made history with a 28-17 victory over La Verne on Saturday. The Panthers became the first team in program history to finish a season undefeated, claiming Chapman’s third SCIAC title in the last six years.

    In the classroom and on the field, senior Jacob Wilbanks has been plowing the way for success. The Panthers’ team captain became the 38th football student-athlete and first since 2015 to be selected to the CoSIDA Google Cloud Academic All-District VIII Team.

The Panthers (8-0, 6-0 SCIAC) cruised to a 41-17 win over visiting Claremont-Mudd-Scripps to claim at least a share of the SCIAC title and the conference’s automatic qualification in the NCAA Division III Football Championship.

    Chapman University senior Hunter Spriggs has been announced as one of 30 nominees nationwide for the Mayo Clinic Comeback Player of the Year. Spriggs returned to the field on Oct. 19 at Occidental after a two-year battle with leukemia.

    After 149 total yards and three scores, freshman Marcos Reyes earned his first career SCIAC Offensive Athlete of the Week selection. His effort helped the 16th-ranked Chapman University football team to a 44-6 lopsided win over Cal Lutheran.
  • Dominant defense downs Cal Lutheran

    Another dominant effort on the defensive end led to another lopsided victory for the Chapman University football team. The Panthers rolled to a 44-6 win over visiting Cal Lutheran to become the first team in Chapman’s history to start a season 6-0.
