Women's swimming earns third consecutive academic award

ORANGE, Calif. – For the third semester in a row, the Chapman University women's swimming and diving team has earned the Scholar All-American Team award from the College Swimming Coaches Association of America (CSCAA) for the Fall 2011 semester. 

Chapman's team grade point average rose from 3.37 in the Spring 2011 semester to 3.41 for this fall semester. The Panthers were among the top 30 teams honored – ranked No. 28 – amongst all Division III programs. A total of six SCIAC institutions were listed within the top-35 with Chapman ranking fourth behind conference opponents Caltech (3.58), Pomona-Pitzer (3.55) and La Verne (3.44).

The oldest coaches association in the United States, the CSCAA presents the team Scholar All-America Award to college swimming and diving teams whose combined grade point average is 3.0 or higher. A total of 131 Division III programs were honored by the CSCAA for Fall 2011.
