Swim & dive takes on Redlands in SCIAC dual

REDLANDS, Calif. – The Chapman University swimming & diving teams made the trip to the Inland Empire to take on Redlands in a SCIAC dual on Saturday. The Panthers pulled out three event wins but both the men's and women's teams fell to the Bulldogs.

The men's team saw wins from senior William Crewe and freshman  Zach Waddell. Crewe finished first in the 100 back with a 54.99. Crewe's time topped the best event for Chapman on the day as the Panthers finished 1-2-3-4. Waddell competed in both long distance freestyle events and came in first in the 500 free. His time of 4:52.61 gave the Chapman men's team its second win.

Freshman Megan Kluck was the only female Chapman swimmer to win an event, winning the 100 breast with a time of 1:07.08. She also came in second in the 50 free with a 25.67. Junior Ella McShane also took second place in the 100 free, finishing with a time of 57.72.

Senior Omar Insignares had a second-place finish to help lead the men's team. He was the runner-up in the 100 fly, finishing with a time of 55.01.

The Panthers are back home for the final time this season to take on Occidental on Saturday at 11 a.m.
