Hall sprints to SCIAC weekly award

ORANGE, Calif. – Freshman Avery Hall sprinted her way into SCIAC Swimmer of the Week honors in the Chapman swimming & diving team's win over Occidental on Saturday.

Hall swept the sprint freestyle events, taking the top spot in both the 50 and 100 free. Hall ended the dual season with a season-best 53.89 in the 100 free. It was the fastest time for the Chapman women's team this season and ranks 15th in the SCIAC heading into the championship meet.

She also swam a winning time of 25.03 in the 50 free. Her season-best of 24.70 in the 50 free also ranks 15th in the SCIAC.

Hall is the first Chapman swimmer to win the weekly award this year. The SCIAC Swimming Championships are Feb. 16-19 in La Mirada, Calif.
