SCIAC Championships begin with school record

LA MIRADA, Calif. – The women's 200 medley relay team broke a school record to highlight the first day of the 2022 SCIAC Championships. The previous record was set just earlier this year.

The women's 200 medley relay team of Hannah Parulan, Ryanne Doherty, Kealani Tanizaki-Hudson and Meghan Kluck swam a 1:48.78 to beat out a record set just earlier this season. The Panthers finished fifth in the event.

The 800 free relay team took fourth in the championship final while the "B" Team took third in the consolation final for the Panthers' biggest scoring event of the day. Riley Brownfield, Bianca Bayer, Parulan and Avery Hall combined for a 7:54.25 to take fourth.

The men's team took fifth in the 200 medley relay with a 1:34.69. William Crewe, Michael Garza, Cole Kershner and Simon Jacobs combined for the Panthers' relay in the championship final.

The Chapman women are in third and the men are in eighth after the first four events of the SCIAC Swimming Championships. Day two begins tomorrow at 9 a.m. with the 500 free, Finals begin at 5 p,m,
