Randazzo, Omilian Regional qualification plus school records highlight day one

ORANGE, Calif — Swimming & Diving returned to the pool Friday Dec. 2 to kick off a two-day meet against Concordia University (Irvine).

Diving kicked off the day, and the Panthers' regional qualifiers Jake Randazzo and Reid Omilian split the victories in the one and three meter dive events. Randazzo won the three meter with a score of 471.5, including a high score of 24.5 out of 30. Omilian won the one meter with a score of 498.85. 

On the women's side, Sydney Rabuchin finished first in the one meter, netting a total score of 343.55 in the opening event. Mina Canon won the three meter with a score of 337.35.

In the one meter, Cannon's 334.35 finished just behind Rabuchin for second place.

The swimmers were headlined by the women's relay teams, taking first place in the medley and free relays, and winning multiple individual events as well.

The women's 400 medley relay team shattered the school record of 3:57.71 posting a stellar time just north of 3:53. 

The Chapman women took home first place in every swim event on day one, and a variety of Panthers posted personal records as well. Greta Cannon , Alexis Anderson, Joseph LaFontaine and Kiana Tanizaki-Hudson all posted personal bests throughout the afternoon.

The swimmers will finish up day two on Saturday, while diving is completed.
