Swim & Dive teams sweep dual from Cal Lutheran

ORANGE, Calif. – Both Chapman University swimming & diving squads took home team victories in a SCIAC dual meet with Cal Lutheran. The Panther women's team pulled away with a 156-142 win and the men's team captured its first-ever dual win over Cal Lutheran with a 143-136 victory.

The men's team was led by Jason Kim, who swam a 51.91 to take the top the top spot in the 100 fly. Kim also won the 200 fly with a 2:00.20. Bryce Grover won the 100 back with a 56.05 and Cole Kershner took first in the 100 free with a 48.78.

The 200 medley relay teams started the day off with a victory for the both the men's and women's teams. Ashlyn Walters, Meghan Kluck, Kiana Tanizaki-Hudson and Avery Hall combined for a 1:50.45 to win the women's race. Grove, Simon Jacobs, Kim and Kershner won the men's race with a 1:38.60.

The women's team was led by a late winning swim from Bianca Bayer, who won the 200 IM with a 2:17.81. Tanizaki-Hudson also added an individual victory to her relay win with a 58.54 in the 100 fly.

The Panthers swept the women's breaststroke events with Sophia Ryu winning the 200 breast with a 2:32.21 and Kluck taking the 100 breast with a 1:09.32. Walters also won the 100 back with a 1:02.38.

Mohamed El-Askary set a personal-best on the diving board and took the event win.

The Panthers are back at Allred Pool for their final dual meet of the season next Saturday to take on Redlands.
