Swim & dive teams earn Scholar All-America honors

ORANGE, Calif. – Both teams and two individuals were recognized as Scholar All-Americans for the Spring of 2023. Both Reid Omilian and Cole Kershner earned the individual honors for academic and athletic success while both team were recognized for their respective academic achievements.

Omilian was honored as a First Team Scholar All-American after earning All-American honors on the diving boards at the NCAA Championships in March. The College Swimming Coaches Association of America annually recognizes all swimmers and divers who have competed at their respective national championships and own a GPA of a t least 3.5 as First Team Scholar All-Americans.

The CSCAA also recognizes swimmers with a 3.5 GPA or better and have recorded an NCAA "B" cut as Second Team Scholar All-Americans. Kershner earned the Second Team honor after winning the SCIAC title with a "B" cut in the 50 free.

In addition to the individual honors, both the High Tops and Low Tops were honored for team academic achievement. With both teams well over a 3.0 team GPA, both were recognized as Scholar All-America teams.
