Mirro sets her second school record

MOORPARK, Calif. – Sophomore Maddie Mirro set another school record on Friday, running the fastest 1500 meters in school history. Her time is also one of the fastest in Division III.

Mirro broke the school record by over four seconds and was over 20 seconds in front of the nearest competitor. Her time of 4:39.98 currently ranks 11th in Division III. Mirro added a second school record to her name after she set the 800m school record at the first SCIAC Multi-Dual in 2020.

Sophomore Jordan Diaz won the 800m for the Panthers, clocking in at 2:25.86. Other event wins came from freshman Grace Coleman in the 5k and senior Gabi Siguenza in the 400m hurdles. Siguenza ran a 1:08.85 with Coleman finishing at 19:52.78. Junior Maija Girardi made it 2-for-2 on javelin wins, throwing the javelin 34 meters (111-feet, 6-inches).

Freshman Daniel Schwaiger led the men's team with an event win in the triple jump and a second place finish in the long jump. Schwaiger's triple jump mark of 12.54 meters (41-feet, 1.75-inches) took the top spot in the event. He leaped 6.19 meters (20-feet, 3.75-inches).

Freshman Chris Dyckman took second in the javelin with a throw of 47.71 meters (156-feet, 6-inches). Freshman Jason Dillon ran a 1:01.89 to place second in the 400m hurdles. Freshman David Anderson ran a 16:36.04 to take second in the 5k with teammate Aiden White at 16:39.32. Sophomores Anthony Hart and Davis Carmichael finished 2-3 in the 1500m run.

The Panthers are back on the track on May 7 for the SCIAC Championships.
