More solid performances for track & field at Titus & Ely Invitational

IRVINE, Calif. – The Chapman University track & field teams continued the season at the Titus and Ely Invitational with several solid performances. Donovan Wilson took second in both the 200m and 400m dash.

Allie Kremer led the women's team with a fifth place finish in the 400m dash. She ran a personal-best 59.72 to set a new personal-best and still ranks 20th in Division III. Maija Girardi also placed fifth in the javelin with a throw of 31.73m. Her season-best from a week ago currently ranks 37th nationally.

Kayla Almeida took eighth in the 1500m run with a personal-best of 4:53.14, which also ranks in the top-50 nationally. Jordan Diaz ran a 2:26.62 in the 800m to place seventh.

Wilson ran a 49.86 in the 400m dash to take second place. His season-best sits as the 20th-best in the nation. He also placed second in the 200m dash with a 22.52. Two Panthers were in the top-5 of the 5000m race. Landon Davies placed third with a personal-best time of 15:20.63 and Anthony Hart took fifth with a 15:22.98.

Zach Leith recorded a personal-best in the 1500m run to take seventh place with a 4:15.19. Michael Crumby ran a PR in the 110m hurdles with a time of 15.62 in the prelims and took sixth in finals when he clocked in at 15.78. His PR ranks him 36th nationally in the event.

In the field, Jesse McMillan cleared 4.55 meters in the pole vault to take second place. His school record of 4.71 meters from last week ranks as the eight-best in Division III. Sam Thompson took fourth in the javelin and Cole McFarlane took fifth.

Next up, the Panthers head to their second SCIAC Multi-Dual of the season as they head into the final month of the season before the SCIAC Championships.
