Records fall at Bryan Clay Invite and SCIAC Multi-Dual

LA VERNE, Calif. – The Chapman University track & field teams enjoyed a record-setting week at the Bryan Clay Invitational and SCIAC #3. Zoe Zurasky became the Chapman's fastest women with a record-breaking 100m dash.

Zurasky ran a 12.53 at Azusa Pacific's Bryan Clay Invite, breaking the previous school record set in 2013 by nearly one-tenth of a second. Zurasky went on to help the 4x100m relay team break another school record later in the day. Kaylee Smith, Allie Kremer, Zurasky and Khyra Stiner combined for a 49.33.

On Saturday, Zurasky also ran a personal-best time of 26.34 to win the 200m dash. She also won the triple jump with a mark of 9.68 meters (31-feet, 9.25-inches) and took third in the long jump with a lead of 4.72 meters (15-feet, 6-inches). Kremer ran a 59.80 in the 400m to take second place.

Kayla Almeida was another runner to take down a school record, running a 2:16.41 in the 800 meter run. Adva Shilon pushed her school record higher in the pole vault, clearing 3.07 meters (10-feet, 0.75-inches) and taking second place overall.

Katarina Maric took first place in the 400m hurdles on Saturday with a 1:08.74. The women's 4x400m relay team also took home a first-place finish, crossing the finish line at 4:10.13. Maija Girardi's final javelin toss of 31.92 meters (104-feet, 9-inches) won the javelin throw event.

On the men's side, Michael Crumby set a personal-best of 15.59 to take third in the 110 meter hurdles. Jesse McMillan won the pole vault when he cleared 4.75 meters and took second in the high jump when he cleared 1.65 meters (5-feet, 5-inches).

Cole McFarlane took second in the javelin with a throw of 42.08 meters (138-feet, 1-inch). Donovan Wilson ran a 49.97 in the 400m dash to take third.

The Panthers will head to the Chris Rhine Twilight meet at UC Riverside next week as a final tune up before the SCIAC Championships on April 30.
