McMillan, Kremer headline Championships with second place honors

WHITTIER, Calif — Track & Field competed at the SCIAC Championships at Whittier College on Saturday Apr. 30.

The Panthers were headlined by two second place finishes. The first in the men's pole vault by Jesse McMillan. He reached 4.81 meters on his best vault. The second was Allie Kremer in the women's 400 meter dash. She won her heat, with the second best overall time, qualifying for tomorrow's final with a time of 59.22.

Another top-three finish came from Katarina Maric in the women's 400 hurdles. She finished with a time of 1:08.99 in the prelims and will compete in the finals tomorrow. 

Other impressive performances came from Ella Kodjababian. She placed eighth in a pair of events. The first being the women's long jump which concluded today. The second was the women's 100 hurdles, qualifying for tomorrow's final with a time of 17.26.

Zoe Zurasky qualified for a pair of finals as well. She placed seventh and eighth in the women's 200 and 100 meter dashes.

Jason Dillon had a top-five finish in the men's 400 hurdles. He will race in the finals tomorrow after posting a time of 58.71.

Anthony Hart placed sixth in the men's 3000 steeplechase with a time of 9:32.34

Sean Longley finished the men's discus in eighth place with a top throw of 36.66 meters.

Carly Trent also finished top-eight qualifying for the women's 400 final tomorrow.

Lastly, Kayla Almeida qualified for the women's 800 meter final tomorrow placing eighth in today's prelims.

Track & Field will finish up the Championships tomorrow at Whittier College. Tickets can be purchased via the link on the Track & Field schedule.
