Track & Field compete at SCIAC #2

EAGLE ROCK, Calif. — Track and Field competed at the SCIAC #2 multi-dual meet on Saturday, April 1 at Occidental against Claremont-M-S and Caltech.

Both the men's and the women's teams beat Caltech. The men won 114-26 and the women took home a 131-22 victory. They both fell to CMS, however, 120.5-36.5 for the men and 92-71 for the women.

The Chapman women dominated the 100, 200 and 400 meter dashes. Allison Kremer took home both the 200 and 400 while Makenna Lizarde won the 100. Lizarde topped her teammate Zoe Zurasky's 100m school record of 12.53 with a 12.39.

The women's 4x100 and 4x400 relay teams also showed out, finishing first in both events. Annika Carlson rounded out the first place finishes with a victory in the steeplechase.

On the men's side, Mason Fara finished first in the 400 finishing nearly .7 seconds faster than second place with a time of 49.02. Jesse McMillan won the pole vault clearing 4.76 meters, just off his school record of 4.78.

Sam Thompson continued the jumps success clearing 1.7 meters on the high jump, winning the event. 

Continuing field events, Azriel Shakur won the discus by nearly four meters tossing it 42.48 meters.

After this great showing, the Panthers will be right back in action on Friday, April 7 at the Whittier Twilight meet.
