McMillan notches top-10 finish at championships

ROCHESTER, N.Y. — Jesse McMillan finished off the 2022-23 athletic season for Chapman placing 10th in the pole vault at the NCAA Division III Outdoor Track & Field Championships at St. John Fischer University in Rochester, N.Y.

Last season he didn't clear a height at the championships, but this season he soared over the 4.6-meter mark on his second attempt, then followed it up clearing 4.75 meters in one jump.

His run came to an end, however, at the 4.9 meter mark, finishing up with the top-10 national finish.

He placed just two spots short of an All-American slot.

Chapman's track & field season ends in historic fashion with the women's 4x100 relay team being the first-ever group of women to qualify from Chapman, and McMillan improving upon his mark from last season.
