Relay teams reach new heights at Cal-Nevada Championships

LOS ANGELES, Calif. - The well-rested Chapman University women's track team took advantage of three weeks off to set season-bests in both the 4x100 and 4x400 relays at the Cal-Nevada Championships at UCLA this weekend.

Chapman's 4x100 relay team of Anna Duffy, Wendy Belanger, Tori Rose and Annie Portwood shaved nearly two seconds off their previous record with a time of 54.42 in Westwood. The Panthers had ran the event in 56.23 in Claremont last month.

Anchored by Belanger, the Panthers' 4x400 team shattered its previous best in the event with a time of 4:26.06 - over 14 seconds better than what it ran at the Soka Invite on March 7. Rose, Duffy and Brittany Allen contributed to the new mark.

Chapman had not participated in a meet since the Soka meet on the 7th. The Panthers will be at the Pomona-Pitzer Invite on Saturday, April 4.
