Mirro completes season at NCAA Championships

LOUISVILLE, Ky. - Chapman women's cross country athlete Maddie Mirro competed in the NCAA Division III Championship 6k this morning in Louisville, Kentucky and took 198th with a 23:08.7. She is the second female runner in program history to represent Chapman at nationals.

She qualified for the race after finishing 12th at the regionals last week, setting a new personal record with a 22:35.8. The first seven student athletes from each region that were not part of a qualifying team were selected to participate. She holds the second fastest 6k time in school history and is 11 seconds off of the school record set by Arabella Reece in 2018.

The Fishers, Ind. native concludes her junior season making program history as a nationals qualifier, after losing the 2020 season to a pandemic she was able to cut one minute off of her time this season.
